The head of the "APA Journalist School" Qabil Abbasoglu congratulated the graduates.
"I sincerely congratulate each of you on the upcoming National Press Day. This holiday is dear not only to journalists, but also to everyone who values words, news, and information. I express my deep gratitude to the trainers who participated in this training, to everyone who shared their valuable knowledge with us through their master classes, both on my own behalf and on behalf of our young journalists."

Rashad Majid: APA is a school

The Chairman of the Azerbaijan Press Council Rashad Majid said that he believes that young people who graduate from the APA Journalism School will dedicate their lives to journalism.

"If APA has published it, the news is true, if APA has not published it, it has not been confirmed yet. Talented and promising young journalists work at APA today. I have always been proud of this. We have constantly talked with Vusala khanum about the continuation of this tradition. I have always told her: "You are doing a very good job." APA is truly a school. I believe that young people who graduate from the APA Journalist School and receive a certificate will devote their lives to journalism. The "APA Journalist School" will hold a special place in their biography."

Rashad Majid said that the trainings are being organized for the second time.

"I am sure that it will continue in the coming years. This will become a wonderful tradition of professional journalism in Azerbaijan. Today, there are many people who call themselves "journalists". However, even in the information chaos, I believe that truly professional media will prevail. I congratulate all the students once again and wish them success," the Chairman of the Press Council noted.

Vusala Mahirgizi: "The third training will start in September"

Vusala Mahirgizi, General Director of APA Media Group, said that more than 15 graduates who completed the first training are already working in the media field.

"220 CVs were received for the first training, and 180 for the second training. 22 people completed the first training, and 18 people completed this training. In total, 10 of these students work at APA, and 6 in other media organizations. From time to time, other colleagues of mine are also interested in our graduates for their personnel banks".

Vusala Mahirgizi said that the third training will start in September.

"This time, we plan to organize several profile trainings and courses covering other areas of the media. We will also have international partners in these trainings," Vusala Mahirgizi said: "I wish to see the young people who graduated today as professional journalists and media managers in the Azerbaijani media."

Nurshan Guliyev: "Our goal is to ensure the sustainable operation of this school"

APA Media Group Editor-in-Chief Nurshan Guliyev said that the APA Journalism School has achieved successful results:

"Previous graduates are already working in various media fields. This also shows that the APA Journalism School has achieved successful results. One of the main reasons for our success is the in-depth training of practical journalism skills. Our goal is to ensure the sustainable operation of this school. We are proud that the students who participated in our trainings are now working in different sites and editorial offices and establishing themselves as "APA Journalist School graduates".

Almaz Mahmud: The more such schools there are...

Almaz Mahmud, rector of the Teleradio Academy under the Azerbaijan Television and Radio Broadcasting CJSC, instructor of the APA Journalism School, said that he was pleased with the students' approach, interest and responsibility in this field:

"How can we prevent disinformation? - this question constantly makes us think. We believe that one of the most effective ways to prevent this problem is schools like the APA Journalism School. The more such schools there are, the stronger we can fight against disinformation. The increase in the number of professional and principled journalists is the main condition for cleaning up the information space. My wish is that good specialists in the field of journalism be trained in our country, and that young people with high media literacy and responsibility be formed."

Ilgar Alfi: Journalism is a responsible job

Publicist Ilgar Alfi said that journalism is a responsible job: "My advice to young people is to first learn about life, and then about people. Because journalism has many subtleties, but sometimes they are deeper than they seem."

"Journalism is a very difficult, but at the same time important profession. Sometimes we feel that this field is not valued in society. Sometimes there are those who think that it has lost respect. Sometimes this profession can draw you into polemics. But despite all this, this is a truly important and influential field. You are engaged in very important work. If you have chosen this profession with love, may your path be open," Ilgar Alfi noted.

Ramila Gurbanli: I wish this school to expand

Journalist Ramila Gurbanli noted that APA has been a school for most journalists.

"APA has been a journalism school since its inception. Before I even started working at APA, I would first check the APA website to make sure that a piece of news was true. This tradition has not changed today. I would very much like this school to grow and expand. Because the young people trained by this school will spread to the media of the future and shape its face. I congratulate each of you once again! I wish you to continue this school and keep its values alive. And when you work for a media outlet someday, you will influence those editorial offices, not they you!"

Bahaddin Hazi: Your career is still ahead

Writer-publicist Bahaddin Hazi congratulated the graduates of the school:

"Today we are reaping what Hasan bey Zardabi sowed. Today, the training held in this group separates us from each other - but the goal is to unite us. We will see you in the media a lot more. We will work together, our paths will cross again. We are also trying to teach you as much as we can - we share what we know. I will give you my book as a gift. This can be considered both a symbolic thank you and a companion on the journey."

Bahaddin Hazi noted that the careers of the young people are still ahead: "I am very pleased to be trained at this school and to share my experience with the young people."

Afag Vasifqizi: Training at APA means earning a seal

Well-known journalist Afag Vasifqizi noted that graduates of the APA Journalism School are representatives of this brand:

“Journalism is not medicine, where a prescription is given. To succeed in this field, it is not enough to just learn the rules. We did not just teach you how to write in these trainings. Because a person either has the ability to write or he does not. We talked about life at this school. We shared our personal experiences. I tried to convey my 35-year professional path to you in words.”

Afag Vasifqizi noted that APA has been a media organization that has been able to gather journalists around it since its inception: "APA's success is that it has always managed to bring together the best. That is why the product it produces is of high quality. Getting training at APA means earning a seal. It is also becoming a bearer of a brand. Graduates of the APA Journalism School are representatives of this brand. This is a great honor. Be sure that this certificate, which is the seal of APA, will be your companion and open doors in the future stages of your life. I wish you all success."

Shamil Pashayev: Being at APA is a great success

A well-known lawyer and school instructor Shamil Pashayev emphasized that the knowledge they needed was shared with the participants at this school.

"We talked about the code of ethics at the APA Journalism School. There were quite a few well-prepared young people participating in the training. APA Journalism School launches its next training course

The “APA Journalism School,” a project by APA Media Group, has launched its next training course starting today, APA reports.

The school’s trainers are Honored Journalist Gabil Abbasoğlu and the Vice-Rector of the Azerbaijan Television (AzTV) Academy, head of the Media and Information Literacy Center, Ph.D. Almaz Mahmud.

An opportunity for those who want to learn journalism

The Editor-in-Chief of APA Media Group, Nurshan Guliyev, noted that the main purpose of organizing the school is to create an opportunity for those who want to learn the secrets of journalism.

“Several students who proved themselves in the previous training course are currently collaborating with APA Media Group. We not only train the students and help develop their skills, but we also provide job opportunities. The main responsibility lies with you. The more disciplined you are and the more consistently you participate in the training, the more you will learn. The training has both theoretical and practical aspects. Everything has been arranged to help you learn and develop your knowledge and skills. At the end of the course, certificates will be awarded. This certificate will play a significant role in your biography. There are also those who have completed our training and are now working in other media organizations. You need to approach the training seriously. It is essential for your development and career-building. I should also mention that renowned professionals in the media field will also be involved in the training and will share their knowledge and expertise with you.”

Practical training and job opportunities

Gabil Abbasoğlu stated that 45% of the students who completed the previous training course of the APA Journalism School have been employed in various media organizations: “Our goal in creating the school is to introduce you to real journalism. Our first lesson is theoretical, an introduction to journalism with the aim of getting to know each other. I would like to emphasize that here, a real editorial environment will be created, and you will prepare news and reports based on real processes.”

Gabil Abbasoğlu stated that 186 people applied for this course: “You have been selected from among them. It is important to follow attendance and be responsible during the training process. If you want to become a journalist, we are facing a very challenging, serious, and also interesting period. You will take an important step in the field of journalism. We thank APA Media Group for creating this opportunity.”

Short-term schools compared to universities

Almaz Mahmud emphasized that the creation of the APA Journalism School is a great initiative: “I am very pleased that the APA Journalism School has been established. Previously, they said that a four-year bachelor’s degree was enough to learn journalism. But now, they say a three- or four-month school is sufficient. Such schools are now being compared to universities. One of them is the APA Journalism School.”

APA Journalism School

It is worth mentioning that the APA Journalism School began its operations in November of last year. A total of 26 people were selected for the 3-month training course, and 21 people graduated from the school.

As a reminder, the training sessions will be held three times a week according to a specific program. In addition to the permanent trainers at the APA Journalism School, well-known journalists, bloggers, and new media experts will share their experiences with the training participants each week.
