Nurshan Guliyev is one of Azerbaijan’s well-known media executives, professional journalists, and editors. Since the very first day of APA Media Group’s establishment, he has played a key role in the company’s development and, for more than 23 years, has been one of the leading figures responsible for shaping the organization’s editorial policy, professional standards, and news production model.
As Editor-in-Chief of APA Media Group, he oversees the Group’s editorial strategy, daily news policy, and the preservation of high journalistic standards. Under his leadership, APA Media Group has further developed its modern news production model based on the principles of speed, accuracy, objectivity, and reliability, becoming one of Azerbaijan’s leading media organizations.
Throughout his professional career, Nurshan Guliyev has placed particular emphasis on nurturing a new generation of journalists. Through his leadership and mentorship, dozens of young journalists have begun their professional careers and gone on to build successful careers at Azerbaijan’s leading news agencies, television channels, and other media organizations. He is recognized as one of Azerbaijan’s leading media experts in media management, editorial strategy, and news production.
Nurshan Guliyev is a veteran of the Karabakh War and participated in military operations in defense of Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity.
In 2024, he led the APA Group team responsible for covering the United Nations COP29 Conference, and in recognition of his contribution to the successful media coverage of this major international event, he was awarded a certificate of appreciation.
In recognition of his long-standing and distinguished service to the media industry, Nurshan Guliyev was awarded the honorary title of "Honored Journalist" and the "Progress" Medal by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. In 2025, he was also awarded the "150th Anniversary of the Azerbaijani National Press" Jubilee Medal for his significant contribution to the development of Azerbaijani journalism.
An active participant in international media cooperation, Nurshan Guliyev has represented Azerbaijani media at international media programs, professional exchange visits, and conferences held in the United States, Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, and other countries. He has also delivered masterclasses and professional training sessions for young journalists on various international platforms, sharing his knowledge and experience with global audiences.
Today, as Editor-in-Chief of APA Media Group, Nurshan Guliyev continues to lead the Group’s editorial strategy, uphold the highest standards of professional journalism, contribute to the development of innovative media projects, and support the education and development of the next generation of journalists.
