Orxan Məmmədli

Orkhan Mammadli is a media executive and journalist with extensive experience in television broadcasting, digital media, and audiovisual journalism. As the Director General of APA TV, a member of APA Media Group, he leads the channel's strategic development, digital transformation, and multimedia content production.

Under his leadership, APA TV has strengthened its position as one of Azerbaijan's leading television news platforms, achieving significant growth in both traditional broadcasting and digital media. During his tenure, APA TV obtained an official broadcasting platform license and launched transmission on the country's cable television networks. He has also played a key role in advancing the channel's digital strategy, expanding its audience across social media platforms, and introducing modern multimedia broadcasting technologies.

Orkhan Mammadli is the author of dozens of documentary films covering Azerbaijan's history, statehood, the Karabakh conflict, cultural heritage, and major social and political events. His work has made a significant contribution to the development of documentary journalism in Azerbaijan.

Throughout his career, Orkhan Mammadli has actively participated in numerous national and international media forums, conferences, and professional events. As an industry expert, he has been a panel speaker at training programs and forums for young journalists organized by the Media Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (MEDIA), where he has shared his expertise on digital media broadcasting, television journalism, and emerging media technologies. He is also a regular speaker and participant at leading media conferences and industry events.

In 2024, he participated in the media coverage of the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP29). In recognition of his contribution to the successful media coverage of the conference, he was awarded an official Certificate of Recognition.

For his long-standing and distinguished service to journalism, Orkhan Mammadli was awarded the Progress Medal (Tərəqqi Medal) by Presidential Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. In 2025, he was also awarded the "150th Anniversary of Azerbaijani National Press" Jubilee Medal in recognition of his contribution to the development of Azerbaijani journalism.

Today, as Director General of APA TV, Orkhan Mammadli continues to lead the platform's strategic growth, oversee the production of innovative audiovisual content, and further strengthen APA TV's position as one of Azerbaijan's leading television news broadcasters.
